I have only two things to say before putting this to bed.

One: I find it bizarre to accuse someone of "wordy bitchiness" after predicting pictures of me in a bikini would make everyone "curdle" just a few posts above. Maybe it's just me, but that's far meaner than anything I wrote about Mischa.

Two: Nope, not everyone's going to "dig your stuff," and that's something every blogger knows while writing their daily posts. That said, Defamer is not the AP. Inserting an opinion into a post separates blogs from objective news outlets. Disagreeing with my opinion is perfectly acceptable, but taking so much time to aggressively respond with derogatory comments is something I find, again, far more catty than anything I've ever written. I suppose that's the advantage of anonymity granted to commenters.

I'm sure there are people who don't like a great many number of posts here for one reason or another.

This post is listed as one of the most read here so hopefully there's a lesson learned.

We certainly ain't geniuses here (as noted by my many late night typos) but we're better than most sites.

Let's not become TMZ.

But chances are you won't reply to this because it's already off the front page.

Defamer is better than that.

Sure, we jest and joke about countless stupid things, but most of them are stupid actions and attitudes. Not physical elements.

You poked fun at someone who yes, strives for a perfect image and is, yes, more than a little annoying and un-talented, but you did so in a cheap, seemingly "Knock her off a peg" way.

It reads far more like an ugly girl in highschool who hates the popular cheerleaders than a beautiful woman poking fun at her own kind.

Cal it what you will, but most Defamer readers/posters are better than that. Not everyone posts to call you on it, but from the amount who DID post here?

C'mon.

@major disaster: When you say "the readers" and "us," you're referring to an incredibly small percentage of people across the blogosphere who have read this piece and taken the time to comment. I don't "have to post an explanation telling people" anything. I do like to respond to the handful or so who read the item and found it problematic.

So, this seems to happen every time you post something like this, so much that you can predict it. And every time, you end up having to post an explanation telling people they're misinterpreting your intent. When it happens as often as it seems to here, it usually that means the problem is the writer, not the readers. You shouldn't have to be constantly telling us, no, you guys, that's not what I meant!

You do this in a long, rambling story featuring no real news-worthy facts (beyond the fact that this girl has finally picked up a badly-needed sandwich), badly-written snark and a plea to all women to not only despise this part of their bodies, but actually hide it from the public.

THEN you try to make it seem like you were in support of the "ever-day" woman the whole time- that your snarks about Mischa's curves and her need to hide in the dark somewhere instead of "showing off" (it's a god damned BALCONY- not a stage), were meant to be supportive of every-day bodies. If she should hide, what should a normal woman do? Wear a burka on their balconies?
Your public hatred of women and their bodies from your high media tower is dusgusting and illustrates what is wrong with modern media's pro-ana addiction.
