Schwartz mentioned it offhandedly during discussion of changes wrought by the strike, and the cast chimed in with talk about which school she'd gone back to and what super hard subject she was studying. Seeing as the kids together seemed barely intelligent to construct a whole sentence, I doubt they could improvise a cover story that easily.

More likely the girl's agent told her the show wouldn't go back into production after the strike, she went to school, and so was not available when production did start up. And now her reps are trying to keep (or rather get, as no one knew who she was) her name out there by concocting the bitch booted bit player saga.
