The inability to keep down food probably has a lot to do with the cancer choking off his digestive system, not a loss of appetite. That's what happened to my dad. He spent the last 3 months of his life unable to eat except via IVs. He wasn't even able to take fluids by mouth any more, at the end--he survived off ice chips. So let Swayze smoke 'em if he's got 'em. Soon he'll be plugged into the morphine drip 24/7,which, as we all know, is so much healthier than Pall Malls.

I guess he's taking it a day at a time, and if he's going to smoke, then so be it. I've taken this walk with a few people so he must be feeling okay still to want to continue smoking. If he finds comfort in it, then although it's not doctor recommended let him have comfort.
