As a resident of Odessa TX, I'd just like to respond to Pittsburghsteamer. You vastly underestimate our capacity for violence. Especially drunken violence. Especially toward Pauly Shore. Just because the guy was too drunk to swing straight doesn't mean he didn't mean it. I'd like an apology.
Fun side note, the "comedy club" that this occured at was a "rock club" until recently. The last notable act I can think of that graced that stage was Vanilla Ice, like rap/rock Vanilla Ice. Its good to live in the anus of america.

Ah, the ghost of Andy Kauffman possesses a hack like Pauley Shore for some hopelessly staged hijinks. That's soooooo Andy. Have you watched that video? That hillbilly didn't come within a foot of hitting Shore. That was a bad, B-movie, WWF stunt fight. Not only was the gag bad, but think of some other mitigating factors - No one, even a redneck in Odessa, goes to a show to laugh "with" Pauley Shore. consequently, they could not be angered. Second, no one in Odessa is sober enough after 7 p.m. to land a blow. And third, doesn't this seem a little too soon after the Kramer incident? Shore wants to cash in on "comedian hasbeen open season," and realizes the world has the attention span of a gnat, so he had to act fast. The whole ting is bollocks. wow, I feel better.
