One of nbc's problems, aside from Zucker, is that they believe this is all cyclical, they've bottomed out and will be back in short time.

nbc has yet to bottom out - they're only 4th among networks, because there are only 4 networks. Just wait another 12 months.

The upcoming crop of midseason replacements is dreadful, at best. and nbc ticks on...

the "we know something others do not" mindsent has led them to horrific decision making - among those deicisions - holding on to some execs for eternity, while dismissing others in short time. Throwing darts would reap bigger benefits.

Reilly MAY be their only asset, among execs. He's terrific. Who else is worth two sh!ts over there? No one.

Can't wait until Kevin is gone, as it assures some of us of at least another two years of laughs.

I personally thought the Kids in the Hall influence rubbed off by Mark McKinney benefited the show quite a bit this week. Maybe what the show needs is more sardonic Canadians. I'm sure they could find a few here!

And yes, if you replaced Reilly's name with Jordan McDeere in this story, nobody would think it odd.

heh3d

Executive firings are fun. Executive personal lives are boring. That's the detail Sorkin missed.

Unless, of course, the executive marries one of his network's stars. But that makes it a celebrity story.

Oh, and I was watching an old episode of Kids in the Hall the other day, and they unironically called one of their comedic presentations a "skit". Of course they're Canadian, but so's Lorne Michaels.
Oooh! Broadcast executive suite gossip that only industryites from LA are interested in! Just like on Studio 60!

(p.s. As this seems to be the rare week without Studio 60 news - full season pickups really put a damper on your deathwatch - was this week's episode a slight return to West Wing form, or the same old claptrap? Hey, I wonder if Kristin Chenoweth can't tell a joke?)

Sleepyhead
