My bet is that Gavin Newsom is smart enough to know that Scientology won't get him the governor's chair. And with approval ratings in the 80s, I think Gavin can overcome this ultimately silly event. After all, I've done very shameful things in pursuit of actress poon-tang, so if anything, Gavin doing this just makes me think more of him. But seriously, Gavin, Scientology is bad. Stay away.

Hmmmm . . . could Gavin be pulling a contra-Cruise? She's the culty one and he's the arm-candy? Commenting from SF Bay Area .. We all love Gavin but my antennae, and his hairgelled and regularly scheduled political grandstanding, tell me he's gunning for an acting career. Something to keep tabs on, for sure. I've met him, and overall, he's a solid dude. Also, the SF Chronicle is a total piece of shit rag, so take anything they write w/a grain of reality.
