My pleasure. I watch it on rainy days.

"I realize absolutely no one cares about this topic this afternoon, but 'save our farms' means independent working farms run by humans as opposed to gigantor corporate industrial agribusinesses that go on for miles with only one crop in a poison or monsantoized monoculture. It's marvellous actually to respond to an issue that will sweep overhead without notice, sort of like having free speech for a change."

THANK YOU for saying that. As some one from the heartland it amazes me how ignorant people are about where, how, and from whom they get their food. I've NEVER been offended on this site before, but that thing that Moe said was just fucking stupid and it illustrates how little attention so many people are paying to anywhere outside of Williamsburg.

Thanks for the note. I am not paid mucho dinero so the love is that much more appreciated.

The Merovingian Princess on Jun 9, 2008

In response to your question: Persephone was bride to the Merovingian in the Matrix movies. (That is my avatar). The Merovingians were an ancient race that ruled Gaul (modern day france) from 500 a.d. to around 1,000 a.d. before getting wiped out. The king was believed to be directly descended from Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

oh my gosh, you are lovely. i was being super-snarky and i apologize, and look at you being so gracious and complimentary. i know what you mean though- i'm a writing student and i work in a boutique and i found myself writing a character sketch on my laptop about a customer that just came in, and my coworker was like, CREEPY! i can absolutely see where it crosses the line.

PS- congratulations on quitting tobacco! stay with it, i believe in you : )

ha! that's true. i just feel like i'm back in high school trying to fit in with the cool kids again...but i don't think it's intentional. there are just some exceptionally hilarious ladies here.

mllej if you're nasty on May 23, 2008

no kidding!! Thanks! Do you get paid to write?

Any time. My ex-wife's family is from a small town in a section of Italy that translates to "five-towns" that you can only get to by bridge from another town.

Thanks for your message. What people sometimes forget is that it takes nerve to disagree with the majority, as you were doing, and I did see your point.

Thanks for wishing me luck!

Thank you! That Vogue cover was almost a mistake - the old images were so striking, so beautiful, and now we just get this air-brushy sleb product placement shit. Vreeland would have known what to do with SJP.

Oh, and yay ponies too!

msAnthrope on May 13, 2008

when i was 9 my first horse had to be put down because she broke her leg. i couldn't understand why we couldn't just put her leg in a cast and fix her!

i suppose a bionic leg would give the horse an "unfair" racing advantage :) ?

ElleL on May 6, 2008

thank you for caring as well! the horses deserve better. :)

and thank you for being passionate about their welfare, and making problems known.

thanks for following! To answer your q, yes I DO think that Goodall is an amazing woman who inspired me to work with chimps and has done wonders for them in the wild and in captivity. She's my idol and I was very glad to meet her in person a few years ago.
