As is our wont on a lazy summer Friday, when we suspect that most of you have abandoned us for the freedom of a two-and-a-half-day weekend, we'll pass along something for no better reason than it brings a small amount of joy into our dark, dark little lives. How does roughly 1,500 inmates at a Filipino prison performing a perfectly choreographed Thriller routine strike you? It strikes us as pretty f'ing amazing.

That was awesome! I think I know where the next "Promises" campus should be located.
That is fucking awesome. I wonder how on earth that idea got mooted originally. Maybe they were already engaged in a kind of "Beat It" type gang war, and just went from there?
Just beautiful. Harbinger of better days? My friend (a former gang member) told me that in the early early 80s gangs used to dance instead of kill each other, before all these old crime bosses got out of prison and started recruiting kids to kill.
Also, I sure hope that super hot chick with the receding hairline got out okay!
Is this what they meant about Paris Hilton's "special treatment"?
How long did it take for a bidding war at the studios to turn this into a feature?
"The Longest Yard 2: Filipino Funk"
The best performance is the "chick." I'm going to have that image burned into my head and have nightmares for weeks.
Just, wow. What with the U.S.'s burgeoning prison population and the popularity of So You Think You Can Dance-type reality shows, I see a lot of potential here!
@Bufflekins: when you're a Jet, you're a Jet all the way...
Wait! That's not a girl at all! Faker! Faker!
Aaah, now we know why our prison system is such a failure! We've been going about the whole rehabilitation thing all wrong...I'd love to see The New Family and The Aryan Brotherhood join forces and do a prison rendition of "Beat It".
And Amanda LePore's got NOTHING on that special brand of trannie funking it up Filipino style!
There was a few moments there, before the "reveal," that I was honestly wondering how they got a girl into prison.
Regardless, I'm sure that Ola Ray there didn't have to spend too many nights in "solitary," nudge-nudge.
When you feel trapped, dance! Color me inspired. I know, I know, I should change my ID to sapmeister.
Filipinos are great. Orange jumpsuits great. And balding incarcerated transvestites are... the...greatest!
@Glass_Family: actually, in Filipino prisons you can have your wife with you if you have the money to pay for her room and board. I would guess that this performance was limited to official inmates, though, to reduce catfight potential. Girls can get nasty.
This is even better than my Oops... I Did It Again video.
Oooohhh! What a bunch of "Smooth Criminals!"
With a special appearance by Michael Jackson as the balding trannie in a tube top!
simply genuis
Hopefully this isn’t where they send the crooked NBA ref, ’cause if this is prison, sign us up lasterday. Thanks to Defamer.
LMAO! that was Bloody Brilliant!! Wow... >_> .. Those inmates did it SOOOOO much better than My High School did... although.. -_-;; a bunch of prison men take direction sooo much better than the regular High School student body. *sigh*
The "Thrilla' in Manila."
The tranny's performance was tastefully understated. Best use of arms pushed out at sides with palms at 90 degree angle to suggest fear/panic. I don't know when I've felt more connected to a performer, especially one whose only previous work was as a "before" picture on those Bosley ads.
Little Dirty Mike effects positive change in third world prison - FILM at ELEVEN!
Great news! They now have a road tour planned. They are however, looking for volunteer drivers to transport the 1,500 newly discovered talents.
