Having whetted their appetites for fresh talk-show meat by feasting upon late-night appetizer Carson Daly last Tuesday night, the renegade Writers Guild opreatives who memorably ruined Jerry Rice's Last Call appearance have issued the above YouTube video, pledging to go after any other host who dares to cross the WGA picket line.
Following this morning's announcement that both The Tonight Show and Late Night are returning to the air without their scribes, expect taser-wielding NBC pages to be put on high-alert and given instructions to fire at will the moment an audience member begins to heckle Jay Leno for not being funny enough, a tragically indiscriminate policy that likely will claim as many bored tourists as Guild vigilantes.

I'd be okay with this if the striking WGA members making over 1 mil a year decided to supplement the incomes of the staff who depend on these shows. Alas, they feel that burden should fall solely on the talent.
AE38: Both Leno and Conan O'Brien are card-carrying member of the WGA. So I guess this means mission-accomplished. Well, aside from the fact they're a weak away from being SCABS who make over 1 mil a year.
Nothing beats the way Bill Maher kicked the hecklers out. Just waiting for WGA members to get their asses kicked by some other quick thinking stand-up.
Jay and Conan are about to become scabs? That's really disappointing.
Thanks so much for the donuts, Jay. That was really f%$#ing helpful.
And Conan, you're a writer who happens to have gotten a performer gig. Your peeps are out there on the picket lines every day. Why don't you man up and follow their example?
Thank goodness! We can now go back to forgetting that Carson Daly exists.
If there's one thing this strike has proven, it's that the WGA rank-and-file who comment on Defamer are generally naive and ill-informed. I'm wondering if the Paramount strike team is just mainlining comments straight from the Melrose gate. This is why I don't read WriterAction anymore.
If the piece shown was written by a WGA member, it honestly explains a lot in regards to why I haven't bothered with commercial television for years.
Bullies. No sir, I don't like 'em.
This was...this was childish.
