A heavy-with-child and housebound Britney Spears has taken to journal writing again to pass the time, having updated the sparse "Love B: stream of consciousness" section of her website yesterday with a paean to the majesty of that most fearsome and beautiful of background props God's creatures, the tiger:

In some ways, people are a lot like animals. We all hunger for the same things. Love, lust, danger, warmth and adventure. Like people, animals all have their own rhythm to life. I'm mesmerized by tigers. Their eyes, their stripes, their constant quest for survival. They almost have a sense of mysteriousness about them. They pull you in and make it difficult to look away. They make you wonder what is behind their gaze. A sense of eerie awe comes over you in their presence. The fear they give you when you pass them is stunning. Behold the beauty of the tiger.

What brought on her latest essay is anyone's guess—inspiration may have come from a particularly engrossing Discovery Channel special, or perhaps just a pre-dinner snack of Frosted Flakes. The subtext, however, is clear: Spears identifies with these lusty, adventurous beasts on a "constant quest for survival," and perhaps even thinks she was was one in a past life. It's a delicious premise that will make for a spectacular illusion in her inevitable postnatal comeback vehicle, sharing top marquee billing with Siegfried in Circus Circus' main showroom.
