We were always a bit confused when Sarah Jessica Parker touted her no-nudity clause throughout all six seasons of Sex And The City, considering how often her character would appear in three-inch long skirts and see-through tops that left nothing to the imagination. Despite being the only actress out of the four leads who never technically revealed any T&A, we still walked away from the show with a near-perfect idea (unfortunately) of what SJP looks like naked. So why break out in a rash and put on earmuffs at the very mention of the word "sex," a word that's come to define her entire career, in this clip from last night's Conan?
When we heard the Smart People star uncomfortably discussing how incredibly uncomfortable "intimate" talk and even hearing the word "sex" spoken aloud makes her, our confusion overwhelmed us yet again. How could someone so prim and proper have spent years chatting about blow jobs and even more years dating someone like Robert Downey Jr.? She doesn't like "the tone" or "the subject" of conversations involving sex? Learning that the executive producer and star of the HBO show would never even watch it hardly increases our appreciation for a program whose legend is based around the open dialogue it created for women to air their opinions about the "vulgar"ities of intimacy. Are we the only ones?

I always thought Sex and the City was a show about four New York trannies.
This show really 'spoke to' women?
Poor thing, why doesn't someone just level with her? Sex and the City is dated, overrated, and she was always too self-conscious to be hot.
Ugh! This annoys me, too.
At least this explains the gay husband.
Well, that explains why she has her hair pulled back so tight.
I bet she'd talk to ME about her sex life. Every other bugger does, whether I want them to or not.
She'd like to have a nude sex scene in the upcoming SITC film, but that would infringe on the copyright of "Equus".
I'm so glad the stork brought that kid she's always dragging around.
She's looking an awful lot like Chloris Leachman in this clip. I mean the "Phyllis" Chloris. Hm.
she looks stretched.
it must hurt her face.
This is just her passive aggressive way of getting everyone she ever meets to tell her about their sex life.
I mean to stop telling her about their sex life.
@bitchybitch: yes
also i'm guessing [and i hope i'm wrong] that someone who is this uncomfortable at the mere thought of discussing sex---to the point where they break out in hives is the victim of a repressed abuse memory waiting to happen. [again, i hope i'm wrong].
btw, hives are one of the signs that someone is about to have a migraine. poor sarah, i wonder if that was happening to her during the interview.
Okay, so I have this theory. Something really bad happened to SJP during season 4 of SATC. Maybe Matthew cheated on her or something? I don't know but this "bad thing" coupled with her big head made for a really crappy show. It was also during this time that she started being "offended" about the whole "sex" thing. On shows she would talk about it and even on certain episodes, her disdain was written in to her character. Normally Samantha's antics would get a sideways glance and a giggle, but by the end of season 4 and for the remainder of the show (which SUCKED after season 4), Carrie was mortified by Samantha or would make this meanspirited jokes. SJP's newfound morality, I believe does not lie in her motherhood, but I think in her insecurities over growing old and perhaps losing some sort of ground in her marriage. Additionally, it was after season 4 that she got her crappy plastic surgery to thin out her nose... she looks OLDER because of the surgery. SJP's relaxed, witty, confident demeanor has been replaced with self-righteous arrogance. So sad, because I really liked her and the character of Carrie.
I watched a partial episode ONCE - a bunch of desparate 30 somethings (played by 40 something actresses) pretending to be twenty somethings who thought talking about sex made them interesting and witty.. instead of skanky.. now this interview just shows she knew how incredibly lame the entire series was.. that's really why she's embarrassed
Scripted, coached PR bullshit (and overly technical acting in her delivery.) In RL SJP is a stone freak.
