Another day, another reality show featuring D-list celebs premieres on basic cable. And last week was no exception, as MTV's Rock the Cradle made a strong showing right out of the gate. That's the program where children of washed-up musicians try to prove that they have as much talent as their parents. Unfortunately, the acorn falls pretty fucking far from the tree. As evidence, may we present Olivia Newton John's daughter, Chloe Lattanzi.

And last week was no exception, as MTV's The above video definitely makes with the crazy, from Chloe's banshee-like warbling, to Olivia Newton John's pained reaction shots, to judge Belinda Carlisle's wild over-abundance of praise for that train-wreck of a performance.
In Chloe's defense, her "ears were out." But after listening to that, so are ours.
(Also, is it just us, or does Chloe resemble a certain toy we used to play with as a child?)

I was apalled by most of them, and especially apalled at the way Kenny Loggins' son referred to "Peace Love And Understanding" as an Elvis Costello song. Nick Lowe wrote that song.
Regarding the toy, I was noticing her disproportionately large head in relation to her extremely thin neck and was thinking more of a bobble-head doll--but to each their own.
I must confess I did not play with the toy you referenced, having been born in the wrong century.
Michael Hutchence just untied the rope, took the lemon out of his mouth, crawled out of his grave and strung up the plump lipped excuse for offspring.
Shouldn't it be, "Mock the Cradle"?
in my life i have not heard anything as awful as chloe lattanzi. i might never be able to listen to the 'kick' album ever again. i want to add that belinda carlisle giving chloe a high mark and praising her as she did was a disgrace. she just lost a big number of cool points in my book. shame!

Wonder what Matt looks like these days, had a mega crush on him in 9th grade, his movie about banging his "older" tutor was my first really naughty movie. Yes, I was behind the times at 16.
She couldn't hear herself yet even she apparently knew she sounded terrible.

You're right, Larry - apparently you weren't watching the same thing.
In defense against the surgery remarks, this girl has always looked kind of like that. She's had work done for sure, but not as much as some of you seem to think. She never looked like her mother... and to be honest, even though the surgery is very apparent and doll like, it's still kind of an improvement on before.
Chloe looks a lot like her dad Matt Lattanzi. I don't think she sounded that abysmal, she needs some singing lessons, if she's had them, she needs more.
Well, if she'd just sing the song in English I could evaluate her better.

"reality" television never ceases to outdo itself, in a desperate race to the lowest common denomenator. belinda, why must you hurt me so?
