Following a season of Project Runway is something akin to sticking your head in a gay pinball machine, at the end of which enough "fierces" and "feroches" have ricocheted off your skull to cause your brain to dissolve into a soft pink foam and run out your ears. It's an effect not entirely lost on the writers of SNL, who noticed that the search for America's Next Top Designer You'll Probably Never Hear From Again was perhaps a sconch over-reliant on oft-repeated catchphrases, whose non-meanings decreased with each sassy intonation. And we'd be remiss in not presenting the Fierce Trannie Hot Mess Gold Star to Amy Poehler, who really manages to capture the dippy, squared-off smile of Runway victor Christian Siriano.

NO MORE SNL!!!!! IT'S GONE BEYOND BAD BY ITS OWN TERRIBLE STANDARDS!!! DEFAMER CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS PATHETIC SHOW!!!
actually i would watch a hot mess makeover show with Christian in a tranny second! Fierce!
i would love to have seen horatio sanz as chris march.
@keithwolf: OKAY!!
Clearly, not everyone agrees with you.
I thought this with the strongest skit of the night. Kristen Wiig was excellent, as usual.
Did Christian really say "tranny" that much? I didn't notice. I must have been distracted by all the ruffles and black fabric. Or else Ferocia Cotura just sprayed hairspray in my eyes and I missed it...
@Sweet Panda Love: I think anytime you say "tranny" and "fierce" more than once, it is "that much"...
@BeAgrestic: Am I retardo? Where is Kristen in this sketch? Amy P. was playing Her Fierceness, Casey Wilson was the hot mess and Amy Adams was Heidi, no?
@Molly McAleer: facepalm. I meant in general. totally didn't make that clear in my comment. I'm going to blame that on being in a feverish daze.
I'm with Keith. There's unfunny and then there's SNL. It's awe inspiring how bad it is.
I'm with Defamer on this one. It's so hip and cool to hate SNL these past decades. Enough is enough, we get it, you guys have much better taste in your comedy. Now, go back to your Frasier reruns or whatever it is you find entertaining.
Poehler is (as always) amazing in this skit. Hader's impressions are (as always) dead on and fantastic. And Samberg's Digital Shorts are (almost always) pure brilliance. And to anyone who claims Samberg isn't funny, go watch Dick in a Box, Lazy Sunday, Iran So Far, and Natalie's Gangsta Rap and tell me those aren't funny. Fierce!
@jordo_83: he writes good songs but he himself as a comedy actor isn't funny. i agree with your opinions about poehler and hader.
this sketch perfectly embodies SNL after ferrell, shannon, oteri & co. left. it has its bright moments but it doesn't know when to stop.
@Benny: And I'm with you. When I was in junior high my drama class put on a sketch comedy show where a few girls did a skit where it was just them saying "Oh. My. God" over and over again and making goofy faces. They got a round of applause solely because they were popular and if you didn't clap they'd make you suffer socially. This reminds me of that.
RE: Jordo_83: Frasier reruns, you're kidding right, Raymond is far more hip and cool! Those two words should be nowhere near the words SNL even if they're an insult...
This is fucking brilliant. That's all. It's, it's just fucking brilliant. And Adams' ''OOuuuttt!!'' at the end.
Hilarious.
@jordo_83: What? It's hip and cool to hate SNL? Shitballs. I better start laughing at sketches with literally zero comedic value then. I'd hate be lumped in with them hipster types.
You know what IS funny though? The fact that you said it's been cool to hate this show for decades. Decades!? I lol'd.
I will admit this- I watch SNL pretty much every week without fail, though I missed the Tina Fey one because I went out that night. I am always rooting for the show, because I used to just love it when I was growing up- the era of Wayne's World and The Church Lady. And every week I am severely let down. But there are usually one or two funny sketches, and weekend update usually has one or two good jokes, and i feel like that's all I can ask. I appreciate that it is live and goes on no matter what. That's hard to do. I blame Lorne Michaels for its continued failure to be cohesive.
@keithwolf: @Benny: @keithwolf: Relax all you hot mess trannies. It's TV.
I loved the twins sketch. Laughed out loud every time Kristin winked.
@SanFranBetsu: TV can be way better than "all I can ask is a few passing chuckles", we can do better - that's all I'm saying. ie, HBO or a million other shows over the years, even SNL!
I've been advised by a friend that I'm dropping "fierce" far too much. The upside is that I haven't even begun to use "hot tranny mess." Although, I did use "hot mess" on this site and Christian was to blame. I miss Chris the Bear.
SNL can suck SCTV's hot messy tranny dick.
Don't bore Nina.
" FIERCE "! lol
